Diary of an Amazing Kid- Writing Prompt

Write a story about a day at school for a kid your age.  If can be fiction or non-fiction.

What could happen to your character to show the reader how amazing he or she is?

Does she stand up to a bully?
Perhaps he as astounding math skills.
Do a group of students foil an alien plot to take over the school?
Perhaps a shy child discovers a new talent for writing or singing.

Let your imagination take you on an adventure! Happy writing.

What Do You See? - Writing Prompt

Look at the photograph very carefully and then write a story about what you see.

Some questions you can ask before you start writing your story:

Is it a recent picture or an older one? How can you tell?
Who is the girl in the picture? Look at her face. What is she thinking? How does she feel?
What time of year is it?
Look at the dog. Is there anything unusual about him?
Who is the man looking into the camera?
Who or what is he taking a picture of?
What other details do you see and what might they mean?

A Dog Story - Writing Prompt

 

Write a story about a dog. It can be your dog or someone else's. Write a true story or make one up. What kind of dog is it? Does he or she have any special skills? Perhaps this dog can do tricks. Maybe it likes to sleep all day and chew up your socks at night.

My Family - Writing Prompt

Storee's mom and dad encourage her writing and support her work with ADDIE. They all enjoy watching Critique copy ADDIE when she's doing her training exercises.  Storee plans to write more about her family and the things they do together. She feels very lucky to have such good parents and loving pets.

Write a story about your family, the things you like to do together and what they mean to you.

The Olympics - Writing Prompt

Storee Wryter, Critique and ADDIE love to watch the Olympic Games on TV. Storee likes the gymnastics best. ADDIE likes to watch the runners compete. Critique hasn't decided on a favorite yet but it probably won't be diving or swimming. She isn't very fond of water.

Write a story about the Olympic Games. Do you have a favorite sport? Maybe you're a big fan of one or more of the athletes.  Storee is waiting to hear from you. Critique and ADDIE are too.

Oops, I can't believe I ________! Writing Prompt

Write a story about a time you or someone you know made a silly mistake. It can be a true story or a totally made up one/ Have some fun with it!

One time Storee got all dressed up for a party. She was wearing a black skirt and a purple shirt and couldn't decide if her black shoes or her purple ones would look best. Finally she chose a pair and went to meet her friends. It almost time to go home when a girl Storee had just met tapped her on the shoulder and said, "Great outfit. I love the shoes but I'm not sure I'm brave enough to it."
Storee looked down at her feet and started to giggle. She was wearing one black shoe and one purple shoe! When Storee confessed her mistake the new girl laughed along with her and said, "I like you. You have style and a sense of humor." Storee's oops was funny, wasn't it? Which pair do you like better?

Gone Fishing - Writing Prompt

Fishing is something everyone can do. It doesn't matter how old you are or if you're a boy or a girl. You can fish in a river, a pond, a lake, or the ocean. Of course, you must always have an adult with you and get a fishing license where required but fishing with a buddy is part of the fun and being safe means everyone will have a good time.

Write a story about going fishing. It can be true or made up. Write about the one that got away or the ones you caught and released. Did you catch something other than a fish like the boy in this picture? Maybe you didn't catch anything at all but you still had fun. Wouldn't it be funny if you did catch a bookworm?
