Springtime! - Writing Prompt
I've been thinking about how tricky the English language can be. Imagine you are a newcomer to America and you are trying to learn the meaning of a lot of new words, one of them being the word spring. You might become a bit confused when you hear people speaking about spring.
One person might say, I'm so glad Spring is finally here and the flowers are beginning to bloom.
Another might be overheard saying on a hike, "I'm very thirsty. I can hardly wait until we reach the spring so I can get a drink of cool water.
What would he or she think upon hearing someone describe another person by saying she always has a spring in her step?
What helps you jump high on your pogo stick? A spring, of course!
Write a story about spring depicting any of it's meanings and if you think of any more, post them here. I look forward to hearing from you. Happy writing. I'm off for a lunch date with my friend. If I'm lucky she will spring for the check.
